I am currently the Youth Director for SON Lodge Elvidal 509, where I am a Charter Member through my parents. I was also a Charter member of the Arctic Viking 117 Lodge in Fairbanks, Alaska.
As an educator, I have lived and traveled throughout the world. During an extended visit in Norway, I researched stories of Sol and Mani, the Christianization of Norway, and Saint Sunnove, my namesake, for my PhD. I am the daughter of a mixed marriage, as my mother’s family is Valdres and my father’s family is Sunnmore. I live on my family’s 120 year old farm in Central Minnesota with frequent visits from my Indigenous Dakota grandson and family. For exercise I remodel and flip buildings, read Nordic noir for fun, and am an aspiring wood carver.
You can find me at BarneNorsk@gmail.com.
The First District youth goals are to:

- Provide information for Lodge Youth Directors to find ideas and share programs.
Youth Activities and Materials
The District is interested in encouraging and supporting lodges that provide youth social and cultural experiences. If your lodge is interested in sponsoring a youth group or youth event, please let me know so I can assist.
If your lodge would like to provide activities for small groups of youth at lodge meetings, we can also help. I can get information for you on a variety of youth activities, including crafts, lessons, and simple activities.
Please see the Viking magazine for suggestions for youth ideas.
