In Memorium, Bob Hoover

Bob Hoover, past District 1 President 2008-2012, died on Monday, June 23, 2025.  Bob was a long time member of Sons of Norway, and Vikingland Lodge 495, joining in the early 70’s.  He served in many lodge positions, was our District President, and became our District 1 International Director in 2012.  He was an accomplished Bentwood (Tine) box maker and instructor, an active folk dancer, and an advocate for all things Norwegian, especially Sons of Norway. If you attended the 2024 District 1 convention, you met his wife Dorothy, who conducted the Memorial Service for us.  Bob was a wonderful example of what it means to be part of the Friendly 1st District and he will be missed.
