Youth Scholarship Opportunities

Oslo International Summer School: Located in Norway, this six-week intensive program, June to August, is designed to explore the Norwegian language and heritage through a rigorous academic program that is supplemented by field trips and activities designed to immerse participants in Norwegian culture. Skogfjorden: The Norwegian Language Village, located in Bemidji, Minnesota, is one of the many Language Villages sponsored by Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. One, two and four-week programs are offered throughout the summer for youngsters ranging in age from 7 to 18.  Information available shortly

Masse Moro:  This Norwegian Cultural and Heritage camp consists of two weeks of activities in July.  District Five owns and operates this camp.

Scholarships: There are many scholarships available for youth interested in increasing their knowledge of Nordic languages and heritage. Contact your local lodge for further information.

District 1 offers scholarships to the children and grandchildren of District 1 members.  Specific scholarships are the District 1 scholarship fund which can be used for Skogfjorden, other Nordic CLV programs and Masse Moro, and the Mikel Kartvedt scholarship, which is specifically for use at Skogfjorden.  District 1 Scholarships are obtained through individual lodges.
